The Kyosho LA-10 parts bag contains the belt roller set. Inside, there is
- 1 x M3 x 25 shaft
- 3 x needle roller shaft
- 4 x needle roller
The 25mm ‘shaft’ is a hex cap screw with a threaded tip, holding the layshaft cover / earing carrier on. It goes through the cover on the adjust screw side.
The needle rollers sit against the belts to hold it in place. While this keeps the belt closely to the pulleys, the belts are know to stretch slightly when used heavily with modern motors and the belts can start slipping or can put a higher strain on the rollers. With regards to friction, needle bearings can be installed instead of the needle rollers. With regards to low-turn motors (under 8.5t) it is recommended to install a belt tensioner.
